For B Kleymeyer’s 2025 production of As Others Have Before, Isaac designed and built the set as an immersive environment inspired by the archival materials and transformative life of Greer Lankton, a pioneering trans artist of New York’s East Village scene. Drawing from Lankton’s deeply personal journals, evocative sculptures, and the raw vulnerability that defined her work, his approach aimed to echo her spirit of self-invention and resilience. The set was conceived as both a stage and an archive showcase, using layered textures, intimate spatial arrangements, and subtle references to Lankton’s artistic motifs to invite the audience into her world-a space where boundaries of gender, identity, and art are continuously questioned and reimagined.
